Self-employment

Self-employment is a definition imposed by authorities. Any person has the right to choose to do work for another and receive reward, this in itself does not constitute self-employment. However, once this becomes a regular behaviour and profitable the authorities seek to tax it. So, if you engage in occasional and irregular trade transactions you are unlikely to be viewed as ‘self-employed'.
